ARIATONE Mix

Describe the music. Then mix it yourself.

AriaTone Mix has fun with generative music by creating high quality stems giving you control over the mix. Let autopilot drive curated tracks or describe the perfect backing track to suit your mood and practice in the key and tempo you want.

How it works

Music from a description, handed to you as separate instruments.

  1. Describe

Say what you want to hear

A style or genre, a few instruments, a mood or a setting, even a tempo, a key and the chord changes. Instruments are what AriaTone splits into stems, so a prompt that names a few distinct instruments gives you more to mix.

  2. Mix

    Every part on a fader

Drums, bass, guitar, piano, vocals and the rest arrive as stems, each with its own fader and level meter, and you mix them live while the track plays. Played together at their original levels, they add up exactly to the full mix.

  3. Play

    Take a part yourself

Every track shows its key and tempo, so you start in the right key and hit no bum notes. We don’t all have perfect pitch like Jacob Collier. Mute your part, slow it down without changing the key, and loop it as long as you like.

The Jam Room

The band is ready and waiting.

Jam opens in the Jam Room: a cozy space with the band’s gear set up around you. Each part of the track plays at its own station and lights up as it plays: the guitar amp, the bass rig, the drum kit at the back and two keyboards. Strings shake, speakers push and cymbals swing with the music.

Tap an instrument to play its part yourself: its track goes quiet, it turns white under a spotlight, and its name says You. Tap it again to hear it back, and take as many parts as you like.

Focus, Jam and Studio

Three tiers, one on top of the other.

Music that meets you where you are, then invites you in: start by listening, then join the band. Each tier includes everything in the one before it.

  1. Focus

Background music you can shape while you work

Feel the music. Sit back and let us choose the music, or describe the track you want to hear and play to, in as little or as much detail as you like. Tracks start out calm and warm, inviting you in to listen, and where they go from there is up to you. Bring any part forward or tuck it away with its fader. Autopilot keeps the music coming, and if a track isn’t doing it for you, the next one is always ready.

  2. Jam

A backing band that waits for you to join in

Really feeling it? Jump in and join the band: step into the Jam Room whenever the mood takes you. It’s fun and hands-on, and every detail is designed to feel like a loose, easygoing jam with friends: a little trippy, always a good vibe. Tempo and key readings, full mixer controls, with EQ, and your own saved tracks and mixes. Step into and out of the Jam Room without interrupting the music.

  3. Studio

Music composed for your system, mixed by you

Take it further. Tracks stream in lossless FLAC, sample for sample as they were made. Shape the sound with panning on every stem and a parametric EQ over the live spectrum, with studio profiles to start from, or lock in Bit-exact playback to hear the originals untouched. Upload your own songs to split them into stems, mute a part and practice until you’re ready for that perfect take.

On autopilot

Each tier has a sound of its own.

Leave the prompt empty and autopilot keeps the tracks coming, each tier with its own crate of records: something new every time, always in the spirit of where you are.

  1. Focus

    Calm company while you think

Warm, unhurried music for heads-down hours: soft keys, a gentle beat and a bass that never pushes. Picture a quiet library late at night, an early-morning café or rain on the window.

  2. Jam

A band with a groove to lean on

Backing tracks with a clear groove and an obvious feel to play over: slow blues, funk, indie and hard rock, reggae, bossa nova and neo-soul, at a steady tempo and in a key you can see.

  3. Studio

Polished productions for a good system

Deep house, trip hop, cinematic electronica, jazz fusion and liquid drum and bass, produced with a wide stereo stage and every part placed with care, ready for you to take apart and mix.

Made for good headphones or speakers.

Every instrument reaches you as its own stem, in high quality, and a phone speaker can’t play the deep bass, the stereo width or the detail between the parts. In your browser, on a phone, a tablet or a computer: add it to your home screen and it opens full screen.
